VFX COMPOSITOR

Evil Eye Pictures is looking for accomplished VFX Compositors to join its team. In this role, you will integrate CG elements and matte paintings into live action plates. We are looking for someone with a strong creative eye, a problem-solving drive and the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the Compositing team, as well as other VFX departments. 

Responsibilities:

  • Matching color, lighting, and exposure of rendered CG elements into live action plates

  • Matte extractions from blue/green screen shots

  • Matte edge processing and integration

  • Transform and warp elements as needed

  • 2D/3D camera and plate tracking

  • Paint fixes and rotoscoping

  • Grain and de-grain as necessary

  • Final touch-up to the shot

Technical Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of Hollywood VFX compositing experience with Nuke

  • Experience with Keying techniques like Key-light, Primatte or IBK keying

  • Knowledge of 3-D projections in Nuke

  • Sound aesthetic with good understanding of color, contrast, and lighting design

  • Knowledge of film resolution and aspect ratios

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Good team player with great attitude

  • Dependable and flexible

  • Takes direction well and exercises close attention to detail

  • Nuke Gizmo creation

  • Python scripting knowledge & experience

  • Maya knowledge & experience


Unreal TECH ARTIST

Evil Eye Pictures is looking for an accomplished Technical Artist with Unreal Blueprints development skills. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of art and animation pipelines in general and of the content creation pipeline and Blueprints system in Unreal. A high level of technical knowledge combined with strong creative and visual instincts is critical. The Technical Artist will assist teams of artists in tackling projects and be equipped to provide support on complicated technical issues within Unreal.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the CG Lead and Creative Director to design & build experiences in Unreal

  • Design complex materials in Unreal

  • Be well versed in the various lighting techniques in Unreal

  • Create interaction and functionality using Unreal's Blueprints system

  • Optimize content through profiling and enhancing performance with the help of diagnostic tools

  • Collaborate and test new features, prototype shader code, and provide useful feedback during R&D phases

Technical Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working with Unreal Engine

  • Advanced experience of Unreal's Blueprints system

  • Advanced experience with Maya

  • Comfortable in a range of content creation software including Photoshop, Zbrush/Mudbox, Allegorithmic Substance Designer/Painter

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Good team player with great attitude

  • Dependable and flexible

  • Takes direction well and exercises close attention to detail

Bonus (Not essential to the role but would help differentiate candidates):

  • Experience with VR/AR authoring in Unreal

  • Shader programming experience

  • Scripting skills with MEL, Python, C#, Javascript and C++

  • Maya Rigging experience
