UNREAL FX ARTIST (Contract)

Unreal FX Artist (Contract)
Evil Eye Pictures is looking for an accomplished Unreal FX Artist with Houdini experience. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 5 years of professional experience in film, television and/or AAA games, and with at least 2 years experience with content creation in Unreal. The candidate should have a thorough understanding of fx pipelines. Technical knowledge combined with strong creative and visual instincts is critical.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement hyper-real FX in Unreal Engine, owning both the technical and creative problem spaces
Generation of procedural simulation, dynamic simulation, particle and fluid systems in Unreal Engine and Houdini
Creation of volumetric, RBD and character-based FX
Ownership of FX elements from lookdev to integration in Unreal Engine
Enhancing base dynamic systems to improve their visual fidelity
Offer creative and technical solutions for FX with a focus on fast, efficient and repeatable techniques.
Strong creative eye for FX elements and an understanding of how they integrate
Work closely with directors and supervisors to develop cinematic fx solutions, which capture the vision laid out by the client
Requirements:
Proficiency using Unreal Engine to create a variety of stylized and physically accurate fx
Knowledge of tools and techniques in Unreal (Niagara, HGVs, Chaos, Materials, Cloth)
Experience working with other FX DCC packages such as Houdini, Embergen, Blender, etc.
Ability to work independently, problem-solve on the fly, and collaborate efficiently across disciplines in a small, fast-moving team
Detail-oriented both in work processes and ability to QC work
Understanding of optimization and performance profiling
Time management skills; working to production schedules and communicating blockers to department leads and production.
Good to Have:
Experience working with additional Unreal Engine features - Blueprints, Sequencer, Lumen, Nanite
Experience optimizing content through profiling and enhancing performance with the help of diagnostic tools
Scripting & programming skills with Python, C#, Javascript and C++

CA Pay Transparency Information:
The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Evil Eye's benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
Pay Range: $50 -$75 / hour
