Congratulations to the entire Evil Eye Pictures team for Pearl, the first Virtual Reality film ever to be nominated for an Oscar!
We are proud and honored to have produced Pearl at Evil Eye Pictures. We get to work with the most innovative and creative directors, artists, engineers, and animators. The film debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2016 and went on to be released on iOS, Android, YouTube 360, and is the first of the Google Spotlight Stories to have been ported to the HTC Vive headset. Big thanks to the Director, Patrick Osborne, and the vision from Google who allows artists to breathe and be themselves in every way.

EVIL EYE PICTURES is an Animation, Design & Visual Effects Studio in San Francisco, California. Dan Rosen and Matt McDonald founded Evil Eye in 2004 after meeting when working as Visual Effects Lead Artists on the Matrix Trilogy. The two went on to create digital environments for feature film studios Lucasfilm, Warner Bros., Paramount, Sony, and Fox. Jumping into VR in 2014 with one of the first Google Spotlight Stories, On Ice, Evil Eye took a leap of faith. Transitioning from photo-real visual effects to fully animated content production, Evil Eye creates images now with amazing real-time graphics technology created at Google.
